Adam Barrada
Whirling dervish
Presentation
Adam Barrada, born in 2007, has been practicing the art of whirling dervish since the age of three. This talent came naturally to him as he observed other dervishes in various Sufi centers in Montreal and the United States, under the watchful eye of his father, the Sufi singer Anouar Barrada. Despite his youth, his journey is already rich in experiences. His spiritual performances captivate audiences, immersing them in the world of Sufi dance, a means of communicating with the invisible world. When he closes his eyes and lets himself be carried away by the music, Adam seems to access another plane of existence. Endowed with multiple talents, he also ventures into the musical realm, exploring various forms of artistic expression such as singing, kanun, and percussion. He has been collaborating with Oktoecho since 2021.
