Okotécho guides the listener into a sonic world brimming with hope, aspiration, and lyricism found in the exceptional interlude between the Middle East, Arboriginal and the West. Under the artistic direction of composer Katia Makdissi-Warren, Okotécho explores mixed music and musical sounds through its own compositions.


Amina Myriam Tébini

Originally from Montreal, violist Amina Myriam Tébini holds a Master's degree from the Yale School of Music, where she studied with Ettore Causa. She is also a graduate of McGill University's Schulich School of Music, earning an Artist Diploma and a Bachelor of Music in Performance with high distinction. Her diverse engagements have led her to perform at venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall. A member of the Montreal, Trois-Rivières, and Quebec City symphony orchestras, she is also an active chamber musician. In addition to participating in classical projects, she is involved in exciting pop projects, including CD recordings, soundtracks, and a tour with Céline Dion. She has been collaborating with Oktoecho since 2010.
